Alfa Laval India, the Indian subsidiary of Sweden’s Alfa Laval Group, has
bagged an order worth Rs 65 crore from PetroVietnam Group of Vietnam.
The scope of work envisages supply of equipment and engineering solutions for
PetroVietnam’s proposed process plant, which is being set up at central Vietnam
to produce ethanol. The delivery of equipment is scheduled for 2010 and the
plant is expected to go on stream by early 2011.
Alfa’s heat exchangers, decanters and tank cleaning equipment will be used in
the starch-based fermentation, distillation and dehydration process of ethanol
plant. On completion of the project, the plant is expected to produce about
3,30,000 litres per day of ethanol.
