Jagatjit Industries has commenced commercial production at its new grain-based ethanol plant located in Hamira, Kapurthala district, Punjab.
With a production capacity of 200 kilolitres per day, the company expects the facility to generate annual revenue of Rs 550 crore when operating at full capacity. According to a company statement, the plant could supply 65–70 million litres of ethanol per year to Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), supporting India's biofuel goals. In its partial first year, the plant is expected to contribute Rs 300 crore.
“This plant brings stable, high-quality revenue that strengthens our balance sheet and funds our next phase of growth across premium spirits and new markets,” said Roshini Sanah Jaiswal, Promoter & Executive Director, Jagatjit Industries. Founded in 1944, Jagatjit Industries is known for manufacturing Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and Country Liquor (CL). The company operates plants in Punjab and Behror, Rajasthan. The ethanol plant is part of the company’s diversification and growth strategy in sustainable energy.
