L&T has secured two orders from the Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) for
constructing elevated viaduct.
The first order worth Rs 141.13 crore is for the design and construction of
elevated viaduct (excluding stations) from Ashok Nagar to St Thomas Mount and
another Rs 173.30 crore is order for the stretch of the elevated viaduct
(excluding stations) from Saidapet to Officers Training Academy.
These viaducts are part of the 46.5 km metro rail project being executed in
Chennai at a total cost of Rs 14,600 crore by CMRL. The project, being taken up
in stages, is to link North Chennai, Thirumangalam to the west and Kathipara
junction to the south through Poonamallee High Road, Inner Ring Road and Mount
Road.
