Patel Engineering has bagged an order to develop an integrated township in
Port Louis, Mauritius.
The project spread over 24 ha is expected to entail an investment of $1
billion (approx Rs 4,500 crore). The project involves construction of tourist
heritage centre, apartment complex, office building, shopping malls,
entertainment hub, marine garden etc.
The foundation stone of the project is to be laid by Dr Navinchandra
Ramgoolam, Prime Minister of Mauritius, on 29 March 2010.
The township is to be developed in partnership with the Mauritius Government
and will be executed by a subsidiary in three phases over a period of seven
years. Phase I of about three million sq ft is expected to be ready in a span of
three years.
