DP World’s Nhava Sheva Business Park (NSBP) has secured Platinum certification from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). This recognition underscores NSBP’s commitment to sustainable practices in design, construction, and operations, and represents a milestone as it is the first free trade warehousing zone (FTWZ) in India to receive this certification.
Covering two million sq. ft. area, NSBP in Mumbai adheres to global standards and green building requirements, prioritising eco-friendly initiatives throughout its infrastructure. Prominent features include a 1.5 MW solar PV system, which contributes to 18.6 percent of the park’s annual energy consumption, and the adoption of 100 percent electric material-handling vehicles for indoor operations. Moreover, NSBP boasts a 38.9 percent reduction in water usage through the implementation of water-efficient fixtures and rainwater harvesting techniques.
With its strategic location near the Nhava Sheva Port, NSBP optimises cargo movement, offering seamless connectivity to global markets. The facility has six operational warehouses, equipped with specialised and temperature-controlled storage options.
On a global scale, DP World remains committed to environmental sustainability, with targets for achieving carbon neutrality by 2040 and net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
