The Noida Authority has commenced the acquisition of 25 hectares of agricultural land to develop six new industrial and institutional sectors (161-166) along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
Aimed at fostering regional economic growth and attracting industries, this project is expected to be Noida's final sectoral development due to limited land availability. The land will undergo comprehensive development, including roads, parks, drainage, and sewage networks, before being allocated to businesses.
CEO of the Noida Authority, Lokesh M emphasised efforts to collaborate with farmers for a smooth acquisition process, stating “We are talking to the farmers so that we can buy the land amicably for the new sectors to be developed. We hope the plans will materialise soon as our teams are working on this by resolving the farmers’ concerns.”
Currently, the Authority has acquired 40 percent of the required land, while negotiations for the remaining are ongoing. The acquisition involves four villages - Mohiyapur, Gulawali, Dostpur Mangrauli, and Nalgarha. It already owns 90 percent of the land in Gulawali, but challenges such as encroachments and inhabited areas persist. Progress in other villages remains steady
This initiative, launched over four years ago, initially required 540 acres of land. With its completion, the sectors are expected to significantly contribute to the industrial and institutional infrastructure of the region, solidiying Noida’s role as an economic hub.
