North Central Railways, Prayagraj, has issued a letter of acceptance (LoA) to the KERNEX-KEC Consortium for the provision of Kavach, a train collision avoidance system. The work includes tower installation and 4X48 fibre OFC as a backbone on the Bhuteshwar (Incl) - Dholpur (Incl) section.
The accepted bid cost for the contract is Rs 85.14 crore, with a completion period of 500 days from the date of LoA.
Kernex Microsystems is the lead member of the consortium. The total value of all Kavach contracts awarded from April 2024 to date stands at Rs 2,470.25 crore, reinforcing the government’s commitment to railway safety through advanced collision avoidance systems.
