Novotel Hotel, the 227-key five-star hotel was formally launched in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The luxury property was launched by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu on 9 December 2018.

The project has been built by Varun Group and managed by the French chain AccorHotels. The Novotel Vijayawada Varun is targeted at corporate travelers. AccorHotels has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Varun Group to set up and manage a 5,000 seater convention centre in Amaravati, with a target of completing it in a year.

A 200-key hotel will also be put up by Varun Group in the new capital city of Amravati by 2022. Five acre of land for the convention centre and four acre for the hotel have already been purchased by the group. In all, AccorHotels has 49 hotels in India through 10 brands, including 19 Ibis properties.
