Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has discovered reserves of crude oil and natural gas in two exploration blocks in Mumbai offshore. The discoveries, have been made in the blocks which the company won in the open acreage licensing rounds recently.
The reserves thus identified as MBS171HAA-1 in Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP) block MB-OSHP-2017/1 in Mumbai Offshore (SW), and in MBS182HDA-1(MBS182HDA-A) named ‘Amrit’ and 'Moonga' respectively.
ONGC is pursuing exploration in untapped regions within the OALP blocks, assisted by geological data and deploying advanced technologies.
The oil major is engaged in unlocking the potential of hydrocarbon resources along with reserves accretion, which will contribute to the energy security of the country.
