The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) has partnered with Tata Power Renewable Energy to promote rooftop solar adoption under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana.
This initiative targets residential customers, aiming to enhance public awareness and implement cost-effective solar energy solutions across Odisha. The scheme will be executed through four power distribution companies (DISCOMs) and will feature targeted awareness drives in high-footfall locations, such as airports, malls, and railway stations.
Key cities in the initial phase include Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Paradip, Berhampur, Sambalpur, Balasore, and Rourkela, with plans to expand statewide. This collaboration with Tata Power, supported by financial partners, seeks to make rooftop solar systems more accessible and affordable. The initiative aligns with India’s larger goal of transitioning to renewable energy and reducing carbon emission.
