Odisha is planning to set up a 1,000 MW solar park.
The project requires about 5,000 acre of land for which identification is under-way.
The park will be developed on a public-private partnership mode, has been formally approved by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. It is likely to involve an investment of about Rs 6,500 crore.
To develop the park, Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha (Gedcol) is likely to sign a pact with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), after securing the approval of the state government.
