The Odisha government plans to support the establishment of Rs 4,000-crore ship recycling hub near Paradip Port, aiming to boost the state’s maritime and industrial capabilities.
Two new ports with private sector participation are also planned, one in Inchuri, North Odisha, and the other in Bahuda, South Odisha, each designed to handle a capacity of at least 40 million tonne. Additionally, Odisha is prioritising the development of hydrogen manufacturing facilities, expected to commence production by late 2026, and is open to investments in railway infrastructure for mineral and coal transportation.
The government is also preparing policies to attract investments in data centres and global capability centres (GCCs). A land parcel of 250 acres near Bhubaneswar has been identified for developing an electronic city.
The Paradip Port Authority will play a significant role in establishing a major shipbuilding and repair facility.
