P&C Projects has been awarded a contract valued at Rs 166.9 crore by the Water Resources Department (WRD), Tamil Nadu, for the formation of a new reservoir in the Kovalam Sub-basin.
The project, part of Phase 1, involves work on the Eastern and Southern sides of the reservoir. The site located between the East Coast Road and OMR in Thiruporur Taluk, Chengalpattu District.The contract ise, and P&C Projects will have 24 months to complete the project. The formation of this new reservoir is expected to significantly improve water storage and supply in the region.
This initiative is a key part of the state’s efforts to enhance water management infrastructure and address local water needs. The project is expected to benefit the surrounding communities by providing better access to water resources, especially during dry spells.
