Next Generation Manufacturers, a step-down subsidiary of PG Electroplast, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Maharashtra to set up a mega consumer electronics manufacturing facility at Kamargaon, Ahilyanagar.
The Rs 1,000-crore greenfield investment was formalized at a signing ceremony held at Sahyadri State Guest House, Mumbai, in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Minister of Industries Uday Samant, Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, and senior state officials. The project, part of the state’s “Magnetic Maharashtra” initiative, aims to establish integrated manufacturing capabilities for air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, and allied products.
Designed as a state-ofthe-art facility, it will serve as a significant step toward strengthening India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem. Beyond industrial growth, the project is projected to create over 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region, boosting economic development and reinforcing Maharashtra’s position as a hub for consumer electronics production.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis hailed the MoU as a landmark in Maharashtra’s growth journey, noting, “These MoUs mark just the beginning. The government will work as a partner at every stage to guarantee smooth execution and provide a seamless, investor-friendly environment free from obstacles. With initiatives like the Maitri Portal and our new energy policy that lowers power tariffs, Maharashtra is firmly dedicated to driving industrial growth at an accelerated pace.”
