Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on 10 August 2025 in Bengaluru, inaugurated the Yellow Line of Bangalore Metro Phase-2 from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra, covering over 19 km with 16 stations, worth around Rs 7,160 crore.
This addition expands Bengaluru’s operational metro network to over 96 km, enhancing connectivity for a large population. He also laid the foundation stone for Bangalore Metro Phase3, valued at over Rs 15,610 crore, spanning 44 km with 31 elevated stations, aimed at meeting the city’s growing transport needs across residential, industrial, commercial, and educational hubs.
The PM also flagged off three Vande Bharat Express trains—Bengaluru–Belagavi, Amritsar–Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, and Nagpur (Ajni)–Pune, offering faster travel, improved regional connectivity, and a world-class passenger experience.
