Paradip Port Trust has invited bids for the mechanisation of its multipurpose berth (MPB) on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis in Odisha.
The concession period is of 30 years, including a construction period of 30 months. The project is designed as a common user public-private partnership (PPP) facility for handling dry bulk cargo, with a proposed capacity of eigth million tonne per annum (MTPA). The MPB has a length of 250 mtrs, with a draft of 14.5 mtrs. available in front of the berth, ensuring smooth cargo operations.
The work scope includes the mechanization of the MPB, provision of all allied facilities and equipment for cargo handling, and operation & maintenance over the concession period. A total land area of 3,00,000 sq. mtrs. has been earmarked as storage space for the Project. The indicative capital cost is estimated at Rs 630.67 crore. This strategic development aims to enhance cargo handling efficiency at Paradip Port, supporting industrial and trade growth in the region.
