Patel Engineering on 7 November 2006
won an order worth Rs.360 crore from NTPC for construction of 4x150 MW
Loharinag Pala hydropower project penstock and power house in Uttaranchal. The
project is coming on river Bhagirathi in
Uttarkashi district of Uttaranchal, about 195 km from Rishikesh on NH-108. The
order will be executed over the next 45 months.
The company, had also earlier bagged
Rs.318 crore for the head race tunnel package for the same project. (more...)
NTPC's Loharinag Pala project is a run
of the river scheme designed to generate 1,939 million kwh of electricity in a
90 per cent dependable year. The project comprises a surge shaft of 13.5m dia,
inclined pressure shaft, underground powerhouse, underground transformer hall,
tail race tunnel and switchyard.
