Polaris Smart Metering, a leading advanced metering infrastructure service provider, is set to deploy 10 million smart electricity meters across India as part of the government's nationwide initiative to modernise power distribution. 

The project is aimed at reducing power losses and improving supply reliability. Polaris, which currently holds 10 percent of India's market share, plans to double that within the next three to five years. The smart meters will provide real-time data on power consumption, helping utilities detect power theft and enhance grid stability. The rollout is particularly significant given India's growing renewable energy capacity.

Polaris' previous success in regions like Ladakh and Kargil, where losses were reduced dramatically, showcases the potential of smart metering to transform India's power distribution.
