Polyplex Corporation's Board of Directors has approved establishing a new biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) film manufacturing plant in India during its meeting on 09 January, 2025.
This strategic expansion will add a nameplate capacity of 52,400 MTPA to the company's existing total capacity of 90,000 MTPA for BOPET and BOPP films. The project will require an estimated investment of $65 million (approx. Rs 558 crore), which will be funded through a combination of debt and internal accruals.
The initiative aligns with the company’s goal to expand its business footprint and meet the growing demand for BOPET films, used widely in packaging, electrical, and industrial applications.
