President Droupadi Murmu has inaugurated the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University in Pipri, Bhathat, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, today, marking a significant step in the state’s healthcare and cultural advancement. The university has been constructed at a cost of Rs 268 crore and is the first AYUSH University in Uttar Pradesh.
Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Minister of State for AYUSH and Food Safety (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu, and local MP Ravi Kishan Shukla were among the dignitaries present at the inauguration. Welcoming the event, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised its historical and cultural significance.
The university is expected to become a centre for education and research in Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH), providing holistic alternatives in healthcare and promoting India's traditional systems of medicine.
