The newly converted
Purna-Hingoli-Akola broad gauge railway line will be inaugurated on 11 November
2008 at Hingoli railway station, in Maharashtra, by the Governor S C Jamir.
This will kick off the passenger train service on the broad gauge section
between Purna-Hingoli-Akola.
The line conversion work which covers
209.20 km, involved a total investment of Rs.531 crore. The broad gauge line
will strengthen the rail infrastructure in the Marathwada and Vidarbha regions
of Maharashtra and their adjoining areas.
