RENK Group, a global supplier of advanced drive solutions for military and industrial applications, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu.
This strategic investment underscores RENK’s commitment to enhancing its role in India’s defence and industrial sectors while expanding its global operations. The new plant will manufacture gear units for cement mills, gearboxes for the power and energy sectors, and couplings for international deployment.
RENK plans to operate under a dual strategy—“local-for-local” to cater to the Indian market and “local-for-global” to support its international supply chain requirements. A representative from RENK Gears (RENK India) stated, “This facility is more than just a production location – it is a statement of trust, partnership, and future ambition. India represents a strategic cornerstone of our global operations, particularly in the defence sector.”
RENK has a history of contributing to Indian defence projects, including supplying components for the Arjun main battle tank and the INS Vikrant aircraft carrier. This expansion further integrates RENK India into the company’s global production network.
