RRP Electronics will set up a Rs 12,000-crore semiconductor fabrication plant in Navi Mumbai as it has received a Letter of Comfort from the Maharashtra government for a 100-acre land parcel.
The letter was handed over by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who affirmed the state’s full support in infrastructure, policy facilitation, and skill development. The company revealed that the project involves relocating a semiconductor fab from Sherman, Texas, operated by one of th e world’s leading semiconductor firms. Estimated at Rs 12,035 crore, the facility is set to become one of the region’s largest and most advanced fabs, with a planned capacity of producing 1,25,000 wafers per month.
Construction is expected to begin within six months, with the first phase scheduled for commissioning by Q2/2026. RRP Electronics Chairman Rajendra Chodankar said the project marks a landmark step towards India’s self-reliance in semiconductors and aligns with the nation’s Semiconductor Mission roadmap.
