Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) has received a letter of award (LoA) from North Eastern Railway for the construction of the substructure of Important Bridge No. 50 over the river Gandak.
With an estimated cost of Rs 165.04 crore, the work involves a double D-type well foundation to support a double-line track designed for RDSO 25 T axle loading standard between Paniyahwa-Valmikinagar station. The bridge measures 14x 61 mtrs. and forms part of the doubling work between Gorakhpur Cantt and Valmikinagar stations. The contract stipulates a completion period of 24 months, during which RVNL will execute all civil engineering works, including foundation construction, substructure, and related support systems.
This project represents a significant addition to North Eastern Railway’s infrastructure and is expected to enhance rail capacity and connectivity in the region.
