The Rajasthan government has signed 1,600 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) proposing investments of over Rs 1.37 trillion in the tourism sector, aiming to drive tourism-led economic growth.
These agreements, signed during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit in December 2024, span projects like hotels, resorts, heritage properties, wellness centres, and eco-tourism hubs. According to Rukmani Riar, Commissioner, Department of Tourism, the projects are expected to generate employment for nearly 1.9 lakh individuals once implemented.
Among the total, 29 projects are already operational, while 213 have reached the groundbreaking stage. To ensure swift execution, the state government is actively engaging with investors. A recent high-level meeting in Jaipur brought together 79 MoU holders to address implementation issues and facilitate departmental coordination. The government is also offering policy incentives and infrastructure support to fast-track the development of tourism infrastructure.
