Reliance Industries, along with Dassault Aviation, is planning to set up a manufacturing unit to produce wings of Rafale combat aircraft selected by the Indian Air Force.
The proposed project, estimated to cost Rs 1,000 crore, is likely to come up in Bangalore, Karnataka. Under the plan, Dassault Aviation will help Reliance Industries to establish the unit, similar to its production facilities in France, where the aircraft is produced.
The project has already obtained the green signal from the Ministry of Defence and other agencies.
The Ministry of Defence had selected Dassault Aviation's Rafale plane last year after a five year long process in which five other companies had participated.
