The tender, aimed at expanding inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS), witnessed Reliance NU Energies winning 350 MW of solar capacity coupled with 175 MW/700 MWh of BESS. This integrated project, among the largest of its kind, was awarded at a discovered tariff of Rs 3.33/kWh, fixed for 25 years. It requires a minimum four-hour discharge period each day to ensure dependable peak-hour supply to state distribution companies and will be developed under the build-own-operate model as per Ministry of Power norms.
BC Jindal Group’s renewable energy subsidiary, Jindal India Renewable Energy (JIRE), has also secured a 300-MW solar-plus-storage project from SJVN, tender, which includes up to 600 MW/2400 MW of battery energy storage systems (BESS).
