OMC Power, a decentralised renewable energy company, plans to deploy one GW of distributed clean energy capacity within the next three to five years, with an estimated investment of Rs 4,000 crore.
The current year’s investment is pegged at Rs 400–500 crore, said Managing Director and CEO Rohit Chandra. “We are currently implementing around 100 MW of deployments this year itself,” he noted. The one GW pipeline includes 600 MW from rooftop solar (including Kusum and floating solar projects), 200 MW from telecom infrastructure, 100 MW from mini grids, and another 100 MW from the existing portfolio.
A major focus is on solarising healthcare facilities in Uttar Pradesh, covering AIIMS Raebareli, AIIMS Gorakhpur, and KGMU Lucknow across all 75 districts. The company is also targeting energy infrastructure for 2,000 telecom towers and 1,000 mini grids for rural electrification. Operating under four verticals, OMC aims to scale clean energy while maintaining financial discipline without relying on grants.
