Reliance Energy has decided to participate in the
international bidding process for the Anpara (C) power project in Uttar Pradesh.
The board of Reliance Energy has approved an
outlay of Rs.1,500 crore for the project with a debt-equity ratio of 70:30.
The 1,000 MW Anpara-C thermal project located
around 190 km from Varanasi will be set up on a built own operate maintain
(BOOM) basis.
Along with the existing Anpara A (3x210 MW) and
Anpara B (2x500 MW), the total capacity of the Anpara site will be 2,630 MW.
Reliance Energy has also decided to bid for
acquiring majority equity stake in the five state-owned distribution companies
in Uttar Pradesh.
