The government authorities have finalised the alignment for the Wadala- Thane- Kasarvadavli Metro-4 project line. Now, the 40 km metro line will start at Wadala and continue on the Eastern Express Highway (EEH) before taking a left at Amar Mahal Junction in Chembur.
It will then take the 90 feet road in Ghatkopar connecting areas like Garodia Nagar and Pant Nagar before crossing over the central railway line to continue on the LBS Marg. After the metro line crosses Mumbai City, it will pass along the Ghodbunder road until Kasarvadavli.
At the request of the state government, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) revised the detailed project report (DPR) of the metro line. It also submitted the DPR to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
This metro line will connect areas in the far end of Thane with Mumbai.
