To enhance medical facilities and ensure better healthcare for the people, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has directed the immediate release of Rs 69 crore for the state's premier medical colleges.
During a review meeting, CM Mann emphasised the importance of equipping medical colleges with world-class machinery to improve diagnostic and treatment services. The Rs 68.98 crore allocation will be distributed to four medical colleges, including Rs 26.53 crore for Government Medical College Amritsar, Rs 28.51 crore for Government Medical College Patiala, Rs 9.43 crore for Dr. B R Ambedkar Institute of Medical Sciences SAS Nagar (Mohali), and Rs 4.51 crore for PGI Satellite Centre, Ferozepur.
The Chief Minister stressed that these funds should be used for upgrading infrastructure and procuring the latest medical equipment. He highlighted that augmenting these facilities was essential to provide quality treatment to the state's residents.
