Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), and Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA), are planning to acquire land for Outer Ring Road project by November 2013.
The developers have 11 draft TP schemes for development of the proposed 500 sq mtr of area on both sides of the road. Once the scheme gets an approval from state government, the developer will commence the construction work.
The total length of the Outer Ring Road project is 66 km. The project will be carried out in phases. Initially, in Phase-I, SMC will develop 29 km of road stretch. The entire project is estimated to cost Rs 5,000 crore. It will comprise development of buildings upto 70 mtr in height on both sides of the roads, and development of nearly 2 lakh sq mtr of land on the outskirts of the city. SMC and SUDA have started the process to appoint a consultant for the proposed project.
In addition to this, the developer will get free space index (FSI) of 0.6 km on the Outer Ring Road and it can further purchase FSI on payment at 40 per cent of jantri rate.
