Work on sugar expansion project in
Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh is expected to commence by June 2008.
Indian Glyco (earlier Shakumbari Sugar
& Allied Industries) , the promoter of the project will expand the capacity
of sugar its unit from 3,000 tccpd to 7,500 tccpd. The scope of the project
includes setting up a 15 MW new co-generation power unit and capacity expansion
of distillery from 40 klpd to 300 klpd.
The total project cost is pegged at
around Rs.1,500 crore and the project completion is likely by February 2009.
