Schneider Electric India has announced an investment of Rs 718 crore to expand its manufacturing units in Chennai and Coimbatore, and to set up a new greenfield plant in Hosur.
This move is expected to create 663 direct employment, and strengthen Tamil Nadu’s position as a key hub for advanced electrical equipment and energy management solutions. The investment plan was formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Schneider Electric and the Tamil Nadu government, with Chief Minister MK Stalin in attendance.
The new plant at Hosur will be established in Hosur, focusing on prefab solutions and cooling systems. The facility will cover 5,00,000 sq. ft. at Horizon Industrial Park and will include rooftop solar power, energy-efficient HVAC systems, and EV charging infrastructure. Industries Minister TRB Rajaa highlighted the state’s predictable approvals, skilled talent, and robust infrastructure as key factors driving the expansion.
