Work on the sewerage and drainage integrated project for Ranchi, in Jharkhand, began on 19 April 2016 with the Urban Development minister C P Singh and Mayor Asha Lakda jointly inaugurating the work of Phase One.
The project was inaugurated at Bajra in ward 35 and nine wards including ward 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 32, 33, 34 and 35 covering the area of Ratu Road, Bajra, Pandra, Kanke Road, Morhabadi and Booty More will come under Phase One.
The Rs 359 crore project is being executed by Lucknow-based company, Jyoti Build Tech, which was given the letter of intent (LoI) in September 2015. The company is supposed to complete the work within 24 months of being given the LoI.
As per the contract, the company will have to maintain it for the first five years. After that Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) will take over the charge.
