Ahmedabad-based Shalby Hospitals is set to expand its footprint across India with new multi-specialty hospitals in cities like Lucknow, Kolkata, Nagpur, and Pune over the next two to five years.
The expansion also includes a greenfield project in Mumbai’s Asha Parekh Hospital, which will increase the network’s total capacity to around 2,500 beds. Currently operating 17 hospitals with 2,300 beds, Shalby’s next phase will focus on Tier-1 cities, with each new facility featuring 200-250 beds for operational efficiency and scalability.
The expansion will follow a mix of owned and asset-light models. Shalby, known for its orthopedic excellence, has diversified into cardiology, oncology, neurology, nephrology, and organ transplants, with orthopedics now contributing about 35 percent of its revenue. The hospital group is also heavily investing in advanced medical technologies.
