Manufacturing Sterling Gtake E-Mobility (SGEM), a subsidiary of Sterling Tools, has entered into a partnership with Chinese firm Landworld Technology to locally manufacture onboard chargers, DC/DC converters, and power distribution units for electric vehicles.
The production will take place at SGEM’s EV campus in Faridabad under a technology licence and supply pact. The company anticipates generating Rs 450 crore in business from this venture by FY30, within a market projected to touch Rs 3,000 crore in the same period. These components are vital for EV adoption—on-board chargers enable direct AC charging by regulating voltage and current, while DC/DC converters optimize battery output for auxiliary systems.
The initiative aims to strengthen India’s EV supply chain, cut import dependence, and broaden SGEM’s product portfolio beyond motor control units and powertrain solutions. Chairman Anil Aggarwal emphasised that the move builds deeper competence in EV power electronics. Lin Chen, Vice GM of Landworld, highlighted India’s potential as a fast-growing EV hub.
