Suez Environnement, a France-based utility company, has bagged three orders related to water distribution system, drinking water plant and wastewater treatment plant in India.
The company has bagged the three contracts worth Rs 505 crore in Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore.
The first order bagged by the French company is in Mumbai, to improve water distribution services for 12.5 million people. The company has received a five year contract from Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) worth Rs 257 crore.
The second contract bagged by the company is through its subsidiary, Degremont, worth Rs 157 crore, to design, build, operate and maintain a drinking water plant for the 25 lakh people of Pune, and is supported by the state and national government as part of the JNNURM scheme. The project is scheduled to be completed in 30 months and is likely to be operated for five years. The second contract has been awarded to the company from Pune Municipal Corporation.
Another contract has been secured by Degremont worth Rs 91.2 crore, from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB) for designing and operating two wastewater treatment plants in Bangalore. The project is scheduled to be completed in 24 months and will be monitored over seven years.
The two wastewater treatment plants will come up in Chikkabanavara and in Kadugodi. The projects are part of a bilateral funding agreement between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Government of India.
