Titagarh Rail Systems (TRSL), through its Shipbuilding and Maritime Systems (SMS) division, has won its largest-ever order worth Rs 467.25 crore, including GST, from Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) for two Coastal Research Vessels (CRVs) for the Geological Survey of India (GSI).
The Rs 445 crore base contract, plus Rs 22.25 crore GST, underscores TRSL’s growing footprint in India’s strategic maritime research segment. The CRVs will strengthen India’s maritime research infrastructure by supporting seabed geology studies, oceanic resource mapping, environmental monitoring, and offshore mineral exploration.
Equipped for longduration missions and real-time analyses, these vessels will enable advanced scientific research and shipboard data processing. TRSL has already established its capabilities in the sector, notably through the construction and delivery of CRVs for the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT). Building on this legacy, TRSL continues to position itself as a trusted partner in India’s shipbuilding innovation.
