Karnataka’s Public Works Department Minister, Satish Jarkiholi has announced that Belagavi will soon have two solid waste management facilities to handle its expanding population and urbanisation.
The Minister directed officials to commence work on these units immediately during a quarterly progress review meeting held at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha. The Minister emphasised the need to complete all works under the MP and MLA local area development grants and ensured that proper documentation would be maintained for the process. “This was decided in the last meeting. I want these officials to review each programme in detail. This will facilitate the speedy completion of pending work in various departments,” he said.
In the meeting, MLA Raju Kage pushed for the development of fertile lands damaged by over-irrigation. other officials focused on completing projects like the ESI hospital and multi-village drinking water schemes.
