The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) has sanctioned a Rs 144 crore infrastructure upgrade for the Amausi Zone under its 2025–26 Business Plan, aiming to strengthen power reliability across rural and urban parts of Lucknow.
The initiative, expected to benefit more than 5.5 lakh residents, focuses on reducing outages, stabilising voltage, and handling peak loads more efficiently. The plan provides for four new substations, installation of 671 transformers (25 kVA to 400 kVA), and a new 33 kV transmission line. Key improvement areas include Vrindavan, Alambagh, Kanpur Road, Mohanlalganj, Nadarganj, Dubagga, and Malihabad.
Of the total investment, Rs 50.13 crore will go towards transformers and RS 41.53 crore for substations at Sisendi (Mohanlalganj), the Electricity Training Institute (Sarojininagar), the FCI substation campus (Kakori Road), and near Lok Bandhu Hospital (LDA Colony), directly aiding nearly 50,000 consumers. Work will begin in September, with completion slated before summer 2026.
