Salim Group and Universal Success Enterprises are likely to go ahead with
their satellite township project called Kolkata West International City in West
Bengal sans Unitech as later has pulled out from the project.
In 2007, Unitech was appointed as a partner and was mainly responsible for
the marketing of the project. Subsequently, the project was renamed Nirvana
Township when Unitech was associated with the project but has gone back to its
original name, Kolkata West International City since the disassociation.
The project has been delayed by more than a year due to pollution board
clearance issues. The first batch of 50 bungalows under Phase-I has been handed
over in June 2009. Phase-I comprising 750-800 bungalows is expected to be
completed by 2010.
