VE Commercial Vehicles, a joint venture (JV) between Eicher Motors and Swedish truck maker Volvo has decided to move forward with the plan of setting up factory in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
The production is expected to begin by 1 April 2020. The factory will have a capacity to manufacture 40,000 units in a year. The company will invest about Rs 250 crore instead of Rs 400 crore in the Bhopal factory.
The paint shop planned for Bhopal plant has been deferred and the company will utilise its Pithampur plant for paint operation.
The company also unveiled its Eutech BS-VI range of trucks in Pithampur on 4 March 2020. The new BS-VI trucks are expected to come at a seven percent to 15 percent price premium over the existing range.
