The Water Resources Department (WRD), Bihar has invited bids for the construction of the Barnar Reservoir Scheme in Jamui district at an estimated cost of Rs 2,466.79 crore.
The contract will involve the construction of the Barnar reservoir, dam structures, irrigation channels, and other associated works, with a planned completion period of 30 months from the date of commencement. It will also support groundwater recharge and enhance the region's resilience to water scarcity.
The scheme is part of Bihar's broader plan to strengthen rural infrastructure and ensure sustainable water conservation in drought-prone areas, and aims to bolster irrigation and water management capacity in the region, addressing the agricultural and drinking water needs of local populations.
The closing date for bid submission is 22 July, 2025.
