The Water Resources Department, Punjab, has issued an expression of interest (EOI) for the capacity enhancement of the Harike headworks, aiming to improve irrigation and water storage efficiency.
The project seeks to address increasing water demand and climate variability in the region. The work involves the renovation of existing infrastructure, including upgrading canal systems and water regulation measures to optimise the flow and storage capacity, with an estimated cost of Rs 573.16 crore. The department aims to ensure sustainable water management, providing a reliable water supply for agriculture in Punjab’s critical farming zones.
The last date to submit the EOI is 11 December, 2025.
