Waaree Technologies (WTL) has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Israel-based company 3DBattery to collaborate for the development and production of advanced energy storage solutions. These two entities will evaluate the collaboration further before entering into a definitive agreement.
The partnership will primarily focus on 3DBattery's lithium-ion and upcoming sodium-ion technology. Moreover, this collaboration will equip Waaree with the ability to domestically manufacture high-performance, rechargeable energy storage solutions as well as enhance its position in India and the global new energy domain.
Waaree’s capabilities and 3DBattery's R&D specialisation are likely to pave the way for a paradigm shift in energy storage. In addition, leveraging 3DBattery’s lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery technology will enable Waaree to build capacities for five GWh of battery cell production. Also, WTL seeks to become a leading 'cell to system' technology company and offer reliable, affordable and high-quality energy storage solutions.
