Websol Energy Systemd, a leading manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells and modules, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Linton, a global leader in photovoltaic (PV) ingot and wafer equipment technology.
The collaboration aims to explore the possibility of manufacturing PV ingots and wafers in India, with Websol acquiring the necessary equipment from Linton. In addition, Linton will provide technical expertise and training to Websol’s team to optimise operations. Linton, based in Rochester, New York, has over three decades of experience in designing Czochralski (CZ) furnaces and crystal processing systems, enabling efficient production for the solar industry. The partnership aligns with India's increasing solar capacity, contributing to both energy security and sustainability goals.
Sohan Lal Agarwal, Managing Director of Websol, stated, "This partnership represents a milestone in Websol’s journey to building India’s fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem."
