Around 70 per cent work has been completed on the 1.5 km long King’s Circle-Tulpule
Chowk and 2.5 km Lalbaug flyovers being constructed in Mumbai.
The Rs 150-crore Lalbaug-flyovers will be 17 mtrs wide providing two
southbound and northbound lanes each. The flyover is being constructed on a
single pier system with the help of launching girder technology.
The King’s Circle-Tulpule Chowk flyover costing Rs 72 crore will also be 17
mtrs wide providing two southbound and northbound lanes on either side. While
the southbound lanes will be connected with the existing Nanalal Bridge, the
northbound lanes are being constructed anew.
These two flyovers are part of four-flyover package on the road. The
remaining two flyovers, at Sion Hospital and Hindamata, are already operational.
