The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has announced plans to establish a dedicated Handloom and Textile Park near the upcoming Noida International Airport, along the Yamuna Expressway.
This will be Yeida’s first project focused exclusively on the handloom and handicraft sector. The park is planned in Sector-10, where land acquisition is currently underway. The move comes after the Handloom Handicraft Exporters Welfare Association (HHEWA), which was promised land three years ago, was recently asked to reapply and secure approval from the Uttar Pradesh government to proceed with the project—modeled on YEIDA'S Apparel Park in Sector-29.
YEIDA CEO RK Singh confirmed that the park will be added to the list of “focused industries,” allowing handloom and handicraft entrepreneurs to bid for industrial plots via e-auction, with plot sizes up to 8,000 sq. mtrs. In September 2022, YEIDA’s board had approved the project, and HHEWA had submitted a list of over 150 members keen to set up manufacturing units in the park near Greater Noida’s India Expo Mart.
