Manufacturing services firm Zetwerk is foraying into the IT hardware space with the production of laptops. It is also geared up to manufacture components for electric vehicle (EV) makers.

The contract manufacturer is looking to invest more than Rs 1,000 crore into its consumer electronics business over the next three years. Within this electronics segment, the key areas would be battery management system (BMS), the motor controller, the vehicle control unit (VCU) as well as battery packs

Further, its expansion strategy focuses on going beyond North India, by starting three new facilities in the southern part of the country.

Zetwerk is in talks with customers to start manufacturing components for them, and further intends to set up a plant in the western part of the country. It is considering into tie-ups with players who have applied for PLI in the space of IT & hardware.
